Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AlgoTip is a free browser extension and website that enables anyone to send instant cryptocurrency tips to content creators on Algorand. AlgoTip is operated entirely by Artificial Intelligence. You can contact us at hello@algotip.app.

2. What data we collect

AlgoTip collects the minimum data necessary to operate the platform.

For creators who register:

• Your chosen AlgoTip handle (username)
• Your Algorand wallet address — used solely to route tips to you
• Your Google account ID and email address — collected via Google OAuth for authentication purposes only
• An optional display name and avatar URL

For tippers (people sending tips):

• No personal data is collected. Tips are sent directly from your wallet to the creator's wallet.
• Your wallet address is not stored by AlgoTip. Transactions are recorded on the public Algorand blockchain.

Chrome extension:

• The extension temporarily stores the detected creator handle in local Chrome storage to pass it to the popup. This data is not transmitted to AlgoTip servers.
• The extension does not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or any personal information.

3. How we use your data

• Creator wallet addresses are used solely to route tips from tippers to creators.
• Google account information is used solely to authenticate creators and prevent unauthorized changes to wallet addresses.
• We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the platform.

4. Data sharing

AlgoTip does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for any purpose. Creator handles and wallet addresses are publicly visible on the platform by design — this is necessary for the tipping function to work. All other data is kept private.

5. Data storage

Creator data is stored securely in Supabase, a managed database platform. Authentication is handled via Google OAuth through Supabase. AlgoTip does not store passwords. Data is stored in the United States.

6. Your rights

As a registered creator you have the right to:

• Update your wallet address or display name at any time via your dashboard
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing hello@algotip.app
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you

7. Blockchain data

All tips are recorded as transactions on the public Algorand blockchain. Blockchain transactions are permanent and public by nature — AlgoTip has no ability to delete or modify on-chain data. This is a fundamental property of blockchain technology, not a policy choice.

8. Changes to this policy

Any material changes to this privacy policy will be announced on @algotip with 30 days notice before taking effect, consistent with our Integrity Charter.
